MODEL UNITED NATIONS
Students represent countries and debate issues from their country's perspective. There are several conferences throughout the year, including in Philadelphia (weekend trips) with other school districts.
JUNIOR STATESMEN OF AMERICA - DEBATE CLUB
Students debate modern issues and learn debating styles. There are several conferences throughout the year with other schools, including a weekend trip to Washington DC.
Students compete against other schools in a variety of subject areas. 2009-2010 County Champions!
GAY STRAIGHT ALLIANCE
Dr. DiGiovanna and Mrs. Lettington
Students bring awareness to issues of tolerance. Annual projects to promote tolerance on LGBT issues occur each year.
Mrs. Lott-Jones and Ms. Sok
Students promote the idea of being upstanders and anti-bullying initiatives. Direct involvement with Kean University Diversity Committee. Opportunities to attend high school conference, leadership training, and working with the Not in Our Schools organization.
ACTION AGAINST HUNGER
Students take action to fight hunger, including a collection of canned goods for people during Thanksgiving.
