MASS (MATH APPLICATION SCIENCE SKILL) (3090)
Grades: 9 Semester Credits: 2.5
Prerequisite: None
Co-requisite: Algebra 1
MASS is a required course which seeks to integrate the math skills that are essential to science reasoning and application. Graphing, designing experiments, using elementary statistics and probability to determine validity, scaling, factor labeling, dimensional analysis and tenets of logical thinking are some of the skills that are married in these two subject areas. In this course, math teachers and science teachers will conduct experiments that emphasize the science/math skills essential to problem-solving. The course is designed to facilitate success on the HSPA in science and in math.
