The purpose of the Guidance Department is to help students get the most out of their four years at WHRHS. Whether a student wishes to choose or change courses, needs help with future plans or a job or college, wants to find an activity that meets their interest, desires to learn more about their abilities, needs to cope with a personal or social problem, they will find their counselor to be a patient listener and questioner who can guide them toward finding the answers best for them.

In the privacy of the counselor's office, a student will always find an understanding listener for their concerns while trying to help them find the best ways of enjoying a happy and successful life at Watchung Hills. If a student has a problem that requires special help, their counselor will assist them and their family in finding ways to get this help.

Students may sign up to see a counselor during their study period or from Physical Education class with permission of the teacher.
