What's New?
Two new databases have been added to the Media Center folder for the 2007-2008 school year:
JSOTR includes archives of over 1,100 leading academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, as well as select monographs and other materials useful for academic work. The entire archive is full-text searchable, offers search term highlighting, includes high-quality images, and is interlinked by millions of citations and references.
Oxford English Dictionary Online provides access to the 20-volume Second Edition Oxford English Dictionary, three Additions Series volumes, and more than 1,800 new and revised words each quarter. It traces the evolution of 600,000+ words across the English-speaking world as well as 2.5 million quotations. It also offers etymological analysis, listings of variant spellings, and shows pronunciation using the International Phonetic Alphabet.
In addition, ABC-CLIO and EBSCOhost have new databases:
ABC-CLIO
• Issues: Understanding Controversy and Society provides the complete historical background and current status of 150 of the most studied significant social issues. It features 7,000 articles and 4,500 images and multimedia sources, including government documents, photographs and other works of art, video clips, and historic maps. Each issue is covered through historical background, current status and supporting facts, figures, and timelines.
EBSCOhost
• EBSCO Animals features indexing, abstracts, and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.
• Regional Business News provides comprehensive full text coverage for regional business publications, incorporating coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. This database is updated on a daily basis.
• GreenFILE offers information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,700 records.
• Business Source Corporate is designed to meet the diverse information needs of today's companies and contains full text from nearly 3,000 magazines and journals. Information in this database dates as far back as 1965. Additional sources include more than 1,400 country economic reports from EIU, Global Insight, ICON Group International, CountryWatch, etc.; more than 10,000 substantial company profiles; and 5,095 industry reports.

Gale Virtual Reference Library currently contains eBook versions of more than Gale reference titles, all cross-searchable with other Gale periodical databases and resource centers. eBooks are available in two formats: text with graphics and PDF. All eBook articles include a bibliography, a list of web sites, a citation, and a hyperlinked list of related articles. Each eBook reference library set contains biographies, primary sources, and an almanac for the time period.

ABC-CLIO History Reference Online contains 501 full-text encyclopedias, handbooks, dictionaries, and guides which are cross-searchable and cover a broad range of subjects including:
